Cool Cats of Acid Jazz: Corduroy


    UPDATED:  One of the most characteristic acid jazz bands, CORDUROY, completed an eight-year-long time journey to music stardom and built a loyal fanbase with their 5 albums.
   I first heard them live, after some friends urged me, at  a concert in which they participated in Alimos in 1995 and from that point on I followed their steps closely. Their most famous hits are "Something in my eye", "The frighteners", "Mini" and, of course, their succesful cover of  "Motorhead" (yes, Motorhead`s song of the same name).
   The title of the following video: "E-type".

     Μια από τις χαρακτηριστικότερες acid jazz bands, οι CORDUROY ολοκλήρωσαν το 1999 μια 8ετή διαδρομή στο μουσικό στερέωμα, και δημιούργησαν φανατικό κοινό με τα 5 albums τους.
     Τους πρωτοάκουσα ζωντανά, μετά από προτροπή φίλων, σε συναυλία στην οποία συμμετείχαν στον Άλιμο το 1995 κι από τότε τους παρακολούθησα στενά. Γνωστότερα κομμάτια τους το "Something in my eye", "The frighteners", "Mini" και φυσικά η πετυχημένη διασκευή του "Motorhead" (ναι, του ομώνυμου τραγουδιού των Motorhead!!!).
